Blankney Farm Update – 10 June 2022

Good News!

Good rainfall amounts in May have helped all of our crops. However, the season has been somewhat strangeā€¦

We believe a combination of cold nights and dry conditions has led to crops accelerating through their growth stages and reaching ear emergence 10-14 days before we would normally expect. We hope that although this could impact on yield, good growing conditions will end up protecting our yields.

We remain busy harvesting grass and lucerne and so far, the quality of our drying products has been above average, which will hopefully lead to a good chlorophyll extraction year.

Vining peas will now be our next harvest and will begin in the next 10 days.
